Giro 2026: Results
fotobureau Cor VosGuillermo Silva won the 2nd stage of the Giro d’Italia and also took the maglia rosa. The 109th edition of the Italian Grand Tour features just over three weeks of racing across 21 stages, with nineteen stages still to come. The race will finish on Sunday 31 May in Milan. Silva strikes a double blow in a chaotic stage
On the climb to the Lyaskovets Monastery, with 10 kilometres to go, Jonas Vingegaard attacks, and both Giulio Pellizzari and Lennert Van Eetvelt go with him. The trio enters the final kilometre together, but inside the last 500 metres the peloton comes back alongside them, after which Guillermo Silva takes the sprint.Read more »
Magnier sprints to first maglia rosa
Paul Magnier sprints to the first pink jersey of the Giro d'Italia. He outguns Tobias Lund Andresen and Ethan Vernon on the line. The young Frenchman also takes the maglia ciclamino. Dylan Groenewegen and Kaden Groves are unable to contest the sprint due to a crash in the finale.
